Cow Stomach

 

 

Ciao tutti!!

First thing I would like to share....this week I ate cow stomach. Basically it was fatty meat. Also I didn't know it was cow stomach until the day after when our English student then told us. Che bello. 

We have a Heavenly Father who loves us!!!! This week I have loved talked to people about how we can receive answers from God. 

I have received a personal answer from God!!!! I know he answers prayers. My thoughts and concerns though sometimes dumb...they matter to him. 

Sunday...I sang in church. It was going to be just me and Sorella bastian but then we made the anziani join us. Good thing I was the only one who could do soprano and standing in front of the microphone. Haha good thing Italians just smile at you anyway. 

We had a very neat referral from the office. This lady named Valentina. She met my ex companion at a culture class. We taught her the restoration. The spirit was so strong!!! She prayed the most humble heart felt prayer ever and then sat silent after. She said...I really liked that prayer. 

We can simply talk to Heavenly Father...he is real...he wants us to talk...have a conversation with Him. 

I love this gospel. I don't know my life without the gospel but I don't have to know my life without the gospel to know its true. I love my life. (Sorry not bragging) but I know how happy the gospel has made me and I don't ever want that to go away.

Just a piece makes a difference

Ciao tutti....

This week has been crazy!!! Wooh!! I received my baby on Wednesday. Her name is Sorella bastian. And how we wish we were under the sea. Haha. It's hot here...really hot but we do the lords work even sweaty. The members are nice to us and give us gelato in this heat. So that's nice. 

Sorella bastian is a rocking missionary. She is very dedicated and bold...she looks people in the eyes and let's them know God loves them. 

I know that God loves us. He is not too busy. We matter to him and as me and Sorella bastian were talking about our same interest in doing puzzles (nerd alert). We started talking about how we are really nothing. We are a piece in a huge puzzle. There are so many others. But have you ever made a puzzle where the piece is missing? It's not complete is it? We are much needed to make it full and beautiful. That piece is needed. Your piece is needed. God loves you and you are needed. 

I love you all. Many little miracles here in Firenze...pray for us as many of our cute friends are leaving for the beach and we will be trying to find people to help them feel like their piece matters.

On Fire in Firenze

Ciao tutti!!!

Well we had an eventful week.
1. Kate and barnaba came to church!!!!!
2. Sorella deleeuw is leaving me and going to piacenza and I will be
staying in florence and training. Yikes!!!
3. We just had a crazy lesson with the spirit strong and frustration
of every kind. Sweet!!!

In the mission when you are training well we say you are having a
child. Soo I am expecting...tomorrow. She will arrive straight from
the MTC and I go to Milano today and will meet her tomorrow. So
excited and nervous and I know I will mess up but I have my savior to
help me when I do.

Ok now I will tell you about our friend Tanya from Romania that we met
just this morning. We are fired up about it me and Sorella so I
apologize if my thoughts seem intense toward the experience I just had
but it was real and my feelings are strong and true.
So we were trying to meet with Tanya for quite some time but she has
been busy. This morning she called and wanted to meet us. She is so
cute. She kept thanking us for the time we met her and prayed with
her. Then we took out the Book of Mormon and she started freaking out.
She kept asking us why Mormon wasn't in the bible. So we explained
that it was a different people in ancient America and she just kept
freaking out. Where is Mormon in the bible why doesn't it come out and
say the Book of Mormon is also the word of God in the bible.
Frustrated but with the spirit and trying not to yell I said well that
wouldn't require faith would it.

Sorella and I then had an intense conversation on the walk to the
church. If we had a book of all information to make it to heaven then
we wouldn't need to have experiences ourselves. How do you know that
the bible is the word of God? Did your mom tell you?  How can we know
that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.? Why don't we ask the guy
upstairs who knows? I know God wants our best and hears our prayers. I
say with all my heart that he will not lead us astray if we are
desiring a heart felt answer. I know God loves each one of us and for
this he will answer. Maybe we won't get the answer we desire but we
will get one if we want one and are sincere...he will answer us
sincerely.

I say this all with passion and the spirit and all of my heart. In the
name of Jesus Christ amen.

Pants and BOM

Ciao Tutti....

A hard thing about Italy...some think we are catholic. I remember once
I may even have mentioned in Vicenza with Sorella back a nun came up
to her and asked to join us in our service. It was cute and even
awkward haha...

Many ask well what is the difference between your church and the
Catholics. Well there are a few similarities but also many
differences. I am not going to go through all of them but if you don't
know...why not hop on Mormon.org and chat with the missionaries huh?

One lesson we had this week was about the Book of Mormon. No other
religion believes in the Book of Mormon. Some say...ugh another
bible...pshhh how wrong...well is it wrong? If we have a loving
Heavenly Father wouldn't he want us to have more knowledge and
direction. Wouldn't he talk to people of both lands?
I invite you to ponder this scripture (haha how missionary like do I
sound there?) ...

2 nephi 28

30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children
of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a
little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend
an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that
receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have
enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.

I know father in heaven continues to reveal truths unto us. He didn't
just love those in Jerusalem at the time of Christ but also those in
ancient America. He continues to love us today and speaks through a
prophet. How grateful I am to know God continues to speak and that he
continues to lead us back to him.

Miracles of the week: we saw our friend Claudia on the street and she
invited us over finally. We taught the resto and after reading Moroni
10 she shouted AMEN!! It was so great. We had a great lesson with Kate
a investigator for 2 years about the Book of Mormon. And we met a cool
homeless man from Romania who accepted a baptism invite. He came to
church Sunday in shorts which was fine but he kept apologizing to
everyone and saying he left his pants on some via. Haha I love gods
children!!!!
